Spiritual Growth

These are ways in which we continue to grow in our faith through learning.

Spiritual Growth

Click on the titles below to find about some of the ways in which we facilitate life long learning to support our Christian faith.

  • Sunday School

Sunday School is held every Sunday during the 10am service. Children 4-11 years old are welcome to join us for Bible stories, games and crafts.
Families start in the church and the kids will be invited to join the teachers in the Trinity Room. The Sunday School returns to the church to participate in communion and a Children’s Talk. Teachers provide a safe atmosphere for children age 4-11 years to learn about their faith.

  • Life-Long Learning

Members of this group participate in the development of parish activities to strengthen and support the spiritual development of parish members. They make available opportunities for people to learn from biblical, spiritual, or other sources of inspiration. Activities have included book studies, retreats, and parish discussions. They also are aware of, promote, and support the educational programs developed by other groups in the parish that have a specific focus.

  • Black History Month Committee

This group plans the activities for the Black History Month celebrations in February and makes suggestions and recommendations for worship during that month. Past activities over the years have included a speaker’s series, fashion show, panel discussions, drumming and dancing workshop, displays of arts and crafts, London Trio Plus gospel concert, and enhanced coffee hours following the 10am Sunday service. Education is also provided through banners and information panels in the church. Planning and preparation take place throughout the year leading up to the February events, with an eye to integrating our learning in Black History Month into what we do throughout the year. The clergy, music director, and Choir provide support for this as well.
